Bio

Through a range of artistic mediums, including Theater, live and video performance, participatory lecture performance, audio walks, painting, drawing, collage, video art, and installation, she examines the nuances of the self and the female experience, often with a sexually provocative, queer feminist perspective, Camila Rhodi’s work explores the memories and emotions tied to personal experiences, delving into the universal themes of love, desire, loss, and grief.

Born in Rio de Janeiro in 1978, Rhodi holds a Fine Arts Master degree from the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, Austria, with one year of studies exchange at ATW in Gießen, Germany, extension studies in Aesthetics at UNIRIO, and Acting studies at Escola Estadual de Teatro Martins Penna in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The artist has exhibited her work in prestigious venues, including the OI Futuro in Brazil,  Sophiensaele and Hebbel am Uffer in Berlin, Parallel Program of Manifesta in Russia, the WRO Art and Media Biennale in Poland, Bienalsur and FIDBA in Argentina, and viennacontemporary, Vienna Parallel, and Vienna Art Week in Austria.

As a Brazilian-born artist with Austrian nationality, currently based in Berlin, her work reflects a unique blend of cultural influences and perspectives.
